Heritage of Excellence: SITEX's Journey in Denim Innovation

Born in the heart of Tunisia’s rich 3,000-year-old civilization, SITEX has been a cornerstone of the country’s textile industry since 1977. Rooted in the Sahel region’s traditional know-how, SITEX began as a strategic partnership between SOGITEX and Swift Textiles, an American leader in denim production seeking a gateway to European markets.

By 1977, SITEX had gained full autonomy, and in 1986, strengthened its ties with Swift Textiles through a more strategic partnership. Today, SITEX operates two advanced facilities: a spinning unit in Sousse (90,400 m²) and a specialized site in Ksar Hellal (170,000 m²) for dyeing, weaving, and finishing denim fabrics.

Strategic geographical location

Tunisia is situated in North Africa, along the Mediterranean coast. Its strategic geographical location makes it easier to ensure logistics for supplying our products to our European customers. This advantage allows us to optimize shipping distances, costs, and delivery times. On the other hand, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are significantly lower compared to other suppliers located on different continents. We can benefit from this in accordance with the new European regulation, CBAM.
